Great question! I don’t think everything goes through this process. For example we don’t see John the Baptist going through a 40 day probation. I think the import point here is simply to recognize the meaning of the number and how it “can” have meaning in our lives. I believe that the meaning of numbers that God has put in the scriptures is forever and to all generations.
